Founded in 1946, TVR is an independent British manufacturer of high-end sports cars known for its lightweight and powerful engines. The company was, at one time, the third-largest specialized sports car manufacturer in the world.
In 1949, TVR built its first original chassis paired with a Ford 1172cc side-valve engine from a 1936 van that was tuned to an output of 35 horsepower.
